Dear Evergreen Families,

My name is Sarah Smith and I am the principal of Evergreen Elementary School. I joined the fabulous Evergreen team in the 2022-23 school year. Prior to that, I spent six years as an administrator at Salt Creek School District 48. Before that, I taught 3rd and 4th grade right here at Evergreen Elementary! The 2023-24 school year is my 22nd year in education, and I am beyond excited to call Evergreen my home. Evergreen is a very special place with amazing teachers, staff, students, and families. The list of things I look forward achieving is ever growing. Topping the list is spending time with your child and family to build relationships with those of you that make Benjamin School District 25 such a special place to be. I am excited to be working alongside the staff who create a safe, warm, and inviting environment for your child to learn, grow, explore, and achieve. Outside of the school building, I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, Kuma. You might also find me reading, singing, or cheering loudly watching my favorite teams play football, baseball, or hockey! 

The banner hanging in the vestibule of Evergreen states: “Through These Doors Walk the World’s Greatest Kids!” Evidence of this statement can be seen daily throughout the school. The students and families at Evergreen are truly amazing!
