New Superintendent Announced

The four month superintendent search process has been concluded with Dr. James (Jim) Woell being selected as the Benjamin School District 25 Superintendent at the January 14 school board meeting effective July 1, 2019 to replace retiring Superintendent, Dr. Philip Ehrhardt.

West Chicago, Illinois – Benjamin School District 25 has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Chicago Tribune. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few.

“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits.” says Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”

In May of 2017 the Benjamin School District 25 staff anonymously completed an employee feedback survey to measure the workplace climate. Dr. Philip Ehrhardt, superintendent, explains that, “Our school district enjoys a close-knit working atmosphere that can be described as being a family. Being awarded the Top Workplace recognition confirms our wonderful work environment which is critical to enabling all of our students to be successful.”

Community Open House for Evergreen Elementary School and Benjamin Middle School Improvements

We look forward to showcasing new learning environments, enhanced safety and security measures, and facility maintenance projects which were completed during the 2018 summer that benefits our students. The open house will take place on Thursday, September 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Student ambassadors and staff will conduct tours at each school, and refreshments will be served. The improvements were made possible with $6.9 million in funding approved by voters in the April 2017 referendum.
