2007-2008 District Goals

Dr. Phil Ehrhardt presented this year’s district’s goals to the Board for discussion and approval.  Dr. Ehrhardt explained that the goals are based on the review of student achievement data and other district information.  The goals are focused on furthering Benjamin’s mission statement, “To provide each child with the best educational opportunity to become a lifelong learner, achieve the highest personal growth and be a contributing member of society.” “Implementing these goals will enable the district to achieve higher levels of excellence,” Dr. Ehrhardt stated.

A report will be made in mid-year to provide the progress made to attain these goals.  This progress report will be communicated at a Board of Education meeting, in the late winter district newsletter, and on the district’s website.

The goals are as follows:

Goal 1:  Focus on the achievement of all students

1a.       Analyze data from sources such as ISAT and MAP assessments to determine an effective course of action for improving teaching and learning

1b.       Map language arts and math curriculum (other curricular areas to be completed in following years)

1c.       Provide professional development aligned to the learning needs of students
